| PRESIDENT: Dave McKay |
Dave McKay, of Dorchester, has served the Yawkey League as President since 1992. He manages the McKay Club Beacons of Dorchester. The Beacons are celebrating its 28th YBL season in 2010. The team is named in memory of his parents. Dave was a two time Candidate for the Boston City Council in 1979 & 1987. He was a Catholic Educator at Saint Gregory & Saint Ambrose Parish Schools from 1978 to 1980. In 1981, Dave joined the faculty of his High School Alma Mater - Christopher Columbus Catholic Central HS. He served as a Social Study Instructor; Activities Coordinator and Development Director until the school was closed in 1991.
In 1991, McKay was appointed to the Staff of Boston Mayor Ray Flynn, and has served Mayors Flynn and Tom Menino as a Constituent Service Specialist for 17 years. Dave's baseball life spans 43 years. He was a coach in the Mill Stream Baseball League in Dorchester during his High School years. At 19, he took over the Mill Stream program and helped it develop into one of Boston's largest amateur baseball programs for youth & young men. He worked in that area for 15 years.
The McKay Club in the Boston Junior Park League/Yawkey League has made the League Championship finals 3 times: 1992, 1998 & 2000. The McKay Club was the final opponent of the Colorado Silver Bullet Women's Baseball Team at Fenway Park in 1997, defeating them 5-2. Dave also was honored to manage 5 YBL All Star Games at Fenway Park. Some highlights of McKay's 18 year YBL Tenure are: Yawkey League All Star Games at Fenway Park 1992 to 2004; Game of the Week coverage on Boston Local Cable outlet Comcast; league returned to using wood bats and strengthened our contacts with the City of Boston & Yawkey Foundation - Boston Trust.
McKay created a talk show on Local Comcast Community Access in 2006. The Boston Baseball Heads Show covers all aspects of amateur & professional baseball. Dave also does the play-by-play and color commentary on YBL Games of the Week, which also air on Comcast.

| VICE PRESIDENT: Joe O'Hara |
Joe O'Hara is in his 28th year with the Al Thomas Club - 6 as a player, followed by 9 as a coach, and the last 13 as manager. The Al Thomas Club has won 5 league championships in 9 trips to the finals, and has made the playoffs in 19 of the last 21 years. The A’s have won 16 division titles.
A former 14-year manager and past president of the Milton Babe Ruth League and 5-year coach of Milton Senior Babe Ruth, he has been on the YBL Board for 14 years in several capacities, including VP, Membership Officer, Director of Fundraising, Member-at-Large and Director of Player Development and Communications.
A B.C. High and Boston College graduate, O'Hara worked in the B.C. High Development Office for 7-plus years before moving on to serve 8 years as Director of Development for James F. Farr Academy, Inc. in Cambridge, and then as grant writer for Partners Home Care. He currently serves as a fundraising consultant specializing in grant writing and planning golf tournaments and special events. |

| SECRETARY: Dave Treska |
David Treska is the President of the Somerville Highlander Alumni / Alibrandis Baseball Club. Founded in 1990, the team has won a record ten Yawkey Baseball League Championships in the teams 20 year history. The club also enjoyed National Recognition, starting the 2003 Season as the 11th-ranked team in the United States and in 2010 as the top rated team in the country by the National Semi-Pro Baseball Association.
Treska was an 1988 Greater Boston League All Star in his senior season at Somerville High School and went on to captain the Bunker Hill Community College baseball team in 1989-1990. He later served as Assistant Coach at Newbury College in 1999 and as Head Coach at Bunker Hill from 2000 through 2002. In 2000, he led the Bunker Hill team to the Championship of the Yankee Small Conference.
Treska first played for Henry's Baseball Club in the then Junior Park League in 1988 and '89. The following season David was granted a franchise in the newly named Yawkey Baseball League and started the Somerville Highlander Alumni Baseball Club. As a player he went on to win two Gold Gloves and play in six All Star games, three of which were at Fenway Park and was a member of 8 of the teams 10 YBL Championships. Dave has served on the Yawkey Baseball League Board of Directors since 1996 as Secretary, and has been instrumental in the continued growth of the league. |

| TREASURER: Joe McCarthy |
Joe McCarthy, of Dorchester, is serving the Yawkey Baseball League as
Treasurer, which requires maintaining the financial stability of the league.
Some of the treasurer’s duties include working with all franchises to ensure
each team meets their financial obligations to the league, paying all league
expenses accurately and on time and act as the league’s point of contact for
the Yawkey Foundation.
Joe was born and raised in Dorchester and is a
graduate of Saint Mark’s School and Don Bosco Technical High School. Joe’s
qualifications to serve as treasurer include over 15 years of professional
business experience in the field of revenue management in the hospitality
industry. Joe is the Assistant Manager of the McKay Club Beacons, so his
position on the executive board of directors is a non-voting position. |

| MEMBER AT LARGE: John Moore |
John "Smokey" Moore grew up in the inner city of Boston within the housing projects of Roslindale, Ma. He found his love for baseball at an early age playing in the Parkway Little League until moving to Somerville, Ma. There he continued his baseball within West Somerville Little League and Somerville Babe Ruth. After leaving Somerville High School for Minuteman Regional in Lexington, Ma he was named to the Commonwealth Athletic Conference 1st team All Stars squad 3 years in a row in both baseball and hockey and was named league MVP his senior year in baseball. John was also a 2 sport athlete at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.
"Smokey" Moore has been involved in the Greater Boston Baseball scene as a player or coach since 1985 when he played and pitched for Mass Envelope in the Boston Park League. During the late 80's and 90's he played within the Intercity League for the Augustine A's franchise and briefly for Elm Supply - Cassell Club. Smokey got his start in coaching in 1985 within the Somerville Little League system and hasn't stopped coaching since. He has coached in his hometown of Revere, Ma with the local Revere Cal Ripken and Revere Little League programs where he served for many years on the board of director's of Revere's Cal Ripken program for over 400 boys and girls. John has also been involved in coaching within AAU baseball in the New England area for the past several years with the Boston Jr. Rams and the New England Stampede which he helped co-found in 2009. John played for many years with the Boston Men's Baseball League (MABL-MSBL) where he was instrumental in forming several teams. John has been involved with "Winterball" which is a charity baseball game played in December to help benefit the Greater Boston "Toys For Tots" program. That game had its origin with the Boston Men's Baseball League but has since been opened up for all greater Boston baseball players including our very own Yawkey League. John has been an Asst. Coach for the Malden Bulldogs of the Yawkey League since 2009.

| FINANCIAL ADVISOR: Kevin George |
Kevin, a lifelong Dorchester resident, was inducted into the Player’s Wing of the Yawkey Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
Kevin played in the league from 1980-2002 earning All Star Honors 14 times and was named MVP of the AVI Nelson Club in 1993. Kevin was also named MVP of his team while playing in the Roy Hobbs League. Kevin also played in the Boston Park League.
Kevin was in the starting lineup for the Dan Tarpey Division for the first ever Yawkey League All Star Game at Fenway Park.
Kevin was also Player Manager and Manager of the South Boston Saints for 7 years. During that time the Saints went to the playoffs six times including being finalists three times and semifinalists twice. Kevin was named Yawkey Manager of the Year twice in that time period.
Kevin is currently the South Boston Saints franchise holder.
In 2009 Kevin was the YBL’S first recipient of the Steve George Executive of the Year named in honor of his father Steve George.
Kevin helped the YBL become a 501c3 and works to help the league maintain that status. Kevin also does much work in maintaining the league’s relationship with the Yawkey Foundation.
Kevin is the Chief Financial Officer of the City of Boston Credit Union and is a Certified Public Accountant.
