Welcome to the world of the Yawkey Baseball League of Greater Boston. It is a pleasure to have you visit the home of the Boston area's premiere amateur baseball program.

2005 marks a new day for our organization. We have expanded to include three new teams representing: Hyde Park & the South End of Boston and Chelsea.

The YBL is the largest amateur baseball program from men in Boston. We play a 32 game schedule as it was meant to be played with wood bats.

Our league has its roots in Boston back to the 1950's. We were also-known-as the: City League, the Twilight League and until 1990 the Boston Junior Park League.

1990 was a coming of age for our league. We were named in honor of Baseball Hall of Famer Tom Yawkey. Our affiliation with the Yawkey Family and the Boston Red Sox have brought us many benefits over the years. We are most proud of our ability to play an All Star Game at Fenway Park each summer. Also, the Yawkey Foundation - Boston Trust is a major financial contributor.

Enjoy your visit. Our web-page is very sophisticated and has many exciting features that keep you up to date on the progress of your favorite team.

Come out and see some great baseball at a field near you!

Sincerely,

Dave McKay
League President
