Yawkey Baseball League Hall of Fame Criteria

These are the requirements for candidacy for the Yawkey Baseball League Hall of Fame:

Player Wing:

• Must have played for a minimum of six seasons in the Yawkey Baseball League or any of its previously known identities
• Must have been voted a League All Star
• Must wait a minimum of two full seasons after retirement, barring extenuating circumstances. If banquet is held mid-season, that season counts as a full season.
• Must not appear in a YBL game for a 2-full-season period after induction
• Must have retired from the league in good standing
• Must have been and continue to be a positive reflection of the Yawkey League
• Must have displayed sportsmanship and integrity for the game

The YBL Board/Hall of Fame Committee reserve the right to waive qualifications in extenuating circumstances or whenever deemed appropriate.

For the 2007 Class, any potential candidates who retired after the 2005 season will be grandfathered in, and thus not have to wait a 2 nd full year for induction.

Contributors’ Wing:

• Individual must have made or been responsible for outstanding financial contributions to the league and/or the substantial and continued financial growth of the league.
• Individual must have been an advocate for the YBL and its progress.

Builders’ Wing:

• Individual must have made one or more significant contributions such as time, finances, effort, talents, service and leadership in the formation of and/or subsequent and continued growth and expansion of the Yawkey League.
• Individual must have been an advocate for the YBL and its progress.

Honorary Wing:

• Individual must have had a direct or indirect impact on the success and growth of the Yawkey League.
• Individual must have displayed a passion for the game and a special interest in the Yawkey League.
• Individual must have been an advocate for the YBL and its progress.
